The annual Marketplace Open Enrollment Period has just begun, and this year people are eligible for more affordable coverage than ever! That’s thanks to the American Rescue Plan (ARP) which expanded the subsidies available to people of all income levels.
Since we implemented the ARP subsidy expansions on HealthSherpa, more than 1.5 million people have enrolled or resubmitted their Marketplace applications through HealthSherpa. Most of those people have paid less than $7/month for their coverage, and 40% have found a plan that’s completely free. Notably, the median net premium was $0 for enrollees in NC, SC, MS, MO, and OK.
